Medicare Supplement
Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans are private insurance policies that help cover out-of-pocket costs not paid by Original Medicare, such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. These plans offer nationwide coverage, standardized benefits, and no network restrictions, allowing beneficiaries to see any provider that accepts Medicare.
Medicare Advantage
Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are private health insurance plans that combine Medicare Part A and Part B coverage, often including additional benefits like dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage. These plans operate through provider networks (HMO or PPO) and may have lower out-of-pocket costs but require using in-network providers for full benefits.
Prescription Drug Plan
A Prescription Drug Plan (PDP), also known as Medicare Part D, is a standalone insurance plan that helps cover the cost of prescription medications for Medicare beneficiaries. These plans are offered by private insurers, have formularies that list covered drugs, and may include premiums, deductibles, and copays based on the selected coverage.
